Recently, we have talked about Keurig K145 and Keurig B145, and it turned out that the two products are actually the same OfficePRO machines. The different naming is just the way Keurig separates the different marketing channel. This time around, however, we are really going to compare two different coffee brewers. The first one is the Keurig OfficePRO K145, and the second one is Keurig Elite Brewing System K45. They are basically two different versions of a system. The Keurig K145 is more intended for office usage; its design is specifically built for heavier-duty needs. The K45 is more for home usage. See also : Keurig B40 Vs K45.
While they can be identical on some aspects, there are a few key differences. Firstly, the K145 has a “drain” feature which would purge out all the water from the brewer, including from the inner tank. The K45 does not have such feature. The feature would be very handy when it comes to cleaning the machine. Secondly, the K145 has a rotary knob to choose the cup size while the K45 has three buttons as size selector. However, the K145 pours slightly more amount of coffee per cup than the K45. Thirdly, the K145 has a heavy-duty power cord while the K45 does not. It is not a big necessity at home, but it is still useful to be had. The K145 also consumes less power than the K45. In real usage, users have reported that the K145 is able to work faster than the K45. Fourthly, the K45 is equipped with the modern quiet brewing technology that makes the machine work without noise. The K145 is not exactly loud; it is just the K45 works more silent than the OfficePRO.
